Dr. Laura Lindner pediatrician

Meet Your Doctor

Laura Lindner grew up in Boerne, TX, studied Zoology at Texas A&M University and attended medical school at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Laura decided to specialize in pediatrics because of her love for children and passion for educating parents. She remained in San Antonio for residency and planted roots in Alamo Heights with her late husband, Patrick Lindner. After training, Dr. Lindner began working for a private practice in 2009 where she remained until starting Homegrown Pediatrics in 2022.

Laura and her family enjoy spending time adventuring in the mountains or relaxing at the Texas coast. They belong to Alamo Heights Presbyterian Church, where Laura has served as a member of the Session and is the AHPC Day School Committee Chair. The family is active in Boy Scouts and values teaching and learning outdoor skills. Laura also supports her crew’s endeavors in book-worming, orchestra, water polo, piano, swimming, baseball, science olympiad, rocketry, and art. Laura’s happy place is preparing a meal to be shared at a full table or around a campfire.

Dr. Lindner brings a practical mom approach to her pediatric clinic. Raising children with varied personalities is a constant reminder of the diverse needs among her patients. Dr. Lindner values the time it takes to listen to everyone’s point of view. She loves developing relationships with families and watching babies grow into young adults. The newborn time is so special; but with each age, new joys and challenges appear. Dr. Lindner likes discussing how to breastfeed or formula feed, start solid foods, potty train, manage tantrums, and she doesn’t even mind seeing pictures of poo. She is a fan of as little “medicine” as possible and prefers managing colds with warm tea and chicken soup. She loves to spend time teaching parents and kids about how to make nutritious choices. Dr. Lindner is certified through the American Board of Pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has participated in the San Antonio Pediatric Society and is a member of the Texas Pediatric Society.

Over the years, the nature of medical practice shifted from being patient focused to being insurance focused. This transition away from the patient and their family led to Laura’s interest in Direct Primary Care. The DPC model allows Dr. Lindner to form a true medical HOME through long lasting, rewarding relationships, easy access to care, and modern communication. Homegrown Pediatrics has been created out of her drive for excellent medical care in the setting of love and family. She believes that the time and attention devoted to anything homegrown leads to the most fulfilling results!
